Or maybe just jealousy... you be the judge!

Read this in the urinal sentinal's editorial section. 3/26/08:

Peace Rallies Deserve More Media Attention

"I was surprised and a little dismayed to see your JSOnline coverage - complete with two reader-submitted photos - of some "anti-war protest" in which four people were arrested, apparently for tipping over some trash cans.
Since September, at the same corner of Water St. and Wisconsin Ave., Peace Action and the Milwaukee Coalition for a Just Peace have sponsored peaceful vigils on the third friday of every month. Attendance varies with the weather, but there have been 100 or more at times.
There has never been a photo or story, despite some creative visuals at the events. On March 15th, perhaps 750 people rallied and marched to call for an end to the war in Iraq. Speakers included U.S. (sic) Rep. Gwen Moore. That didn't rate a story, just a single photo.
What's the lesson? Peaceful protest isn't newsworthy? Being anti-war is only newsworthy if you break the law?"
-Bill Christofferson, Milwaukee

Hope to see you at the next MKE->RNC meeting Bill!

news worthy or not, the photos are kick ass. and so is insurection...that too is kick ass. standing and holding a sign isn't even worth writing about most of the time.

Doing nothing that threatens the smooth turning of gears in this society is not news worthy simply because doing nothing (a pacified population what respects and obeys the law) is one of the smoothest running gears. It's what the state depends on for its existence.

750 at the rally? Haha

Come on, attendance at those rallies has gone down every year since the war started. Want to know why? Maybe because the same thing happens at the same time innn the same place every year. and to what avail? none.
