Crimethinc Convergence in Milwaukee July 16-20th

It’s going to be a busy summer, and we’re hoping the convergence can contribute to everything else that’s happening without losing its unique character and function. We’ve made efforts not to double-book it with other radical events, but as some have not been announced yet, it’s possible that there will be some overlap. Although the dates of the convergence are now essentially set in stone, anyone who has information about other events scheduled for this summer is encouraged to get in touch. Please circulate news of the convergence dates far and wide, as well, so others know not to double-book.

For people interested, there will be a meeting in the next couple of weeks to start tackling the organizing of this beast. This may become another workgroup and have a new section on the forum. Does this seem like a good idea?

I think there will probably be a meeting relatively soon to talk about this again. I'll post details to the forum for people interested in helping.

When would be a good time to meet for people? I'm incredibly busy mainly just this and next week, but after that I can start meeting more regularly.

I don't think I can make time for it until I get back from europe at the very end of June. I realize that will be right before the event but should have a lot of time then to dedicate to it.

I'm pretty excited about it though!

my leads for the whereabouts are still figuring things out...but most have gone asunder...so don't rely on my i guess, but i'm still willing to do whatever i can to help. as far as the rnc...if i don't have a doctors not on those dates i can't take off of work...looks like i'll just have to get written up and risk a suspension...kinda sucks, but that's the date when all the kids move in and out of the dorms so i'm needed more.

Wednesday would work well for me as well. If people are going to the cupcake competition tomorrow we can talk about it more then. People involved with the crimethinc collective would like for us to come up with some ideas and themes for a flier that will be designed and distributed all over the country.

Too often, radical parents are left behind and can't participate in projects due to the assumption that childcare is solely their responsibility. Lets make this years CrimethInc Convergence a space that is welcoming and supportive to children and parents. That being said: Parents, How can we serve you? How can we meet your needs?

Kidz, What are you excited about? Do you have a game to teach, suggestions for activities, or a workshop you would like to present?

Allies, What kind of resources do you have to offer? Can you share your time, musical talents, ideas, art supplies, etc.?

Feedback would be appreciated from EVERYBODY!

By valuing the involvement/work of radical parents, we form a more vibrant culture of resistance, and we teach the young the vision we want to see of a more equitable future by including them in our activities now.

My experience with the Crimethinc convergence last year was that it was a very child-friendly space, and will hopefully be more-so this year.

In general though, I'm interested in hearing what would excite anyone (of any age) at the convergence this summer.
