The lawyers from the National Lawyers Guild recently had to bring the
city's attorney before a judge just to remind them that they still hadn't
turned over all of the evidence that their own documents stated that they
had in their possession. Over the past few days the city of Minneapolis
has mysteriously found several of the videos and other articles that had
been left out of the hands of the defense attorneys. As it stands though,
the judge who presided at the hearing to compel the city to turn over
evidence has not yet ruled on what other evidence the city will be forced
to turn over. Surprisingly enough, one of the surveillance videos
recently turned over by the city also seems to jam up before any footage
of the police starting the confrontations.
Because of these developments, the lawyers intend to ask for a continuance
on the trial dates that are coming up and expect that this will be granted
when they appear in court on Tuesday, February 19th. Chances are good
that Gus' trial will be postponed for at least another month. Due to this
change, we are *no longer* requesting that supporters come to court
tomorrow morning for the scheduled trial. We realize that this is short
notice and we still plan on being at the Hennepin County Government Center
tomorrow. Anyone who is interested in the court proceedings and getting
involved with support is still welcome to attend and we will be able to
direct them to the correct room.

The feedback that we heard in terms of the number of people who were
planning on coming was very impressive. The cases still remain within the
bureaucracy of the courts and the charges are very real and very serious
for those five people who are still being held hostage by the city. We
will continue to keep everyone updated as the situation changes. Please
