For those who participated in QAN's march through the pride parade, what did you think of the days events?

Personally, I think that the march was really well-recieved and that we have a lot of potential for future actions, especially the potential of breaking people from their roles as spectators. Considering our last minute planning and relatively small group, I think the action was very effective in reintroducing radicalism into the parade. It hopefully reminded people that pridefest and pride parades started as celebrations of the Stonewall Riots in which queers rioted for days against the police oppression of the queer community. Here's to resurrecting that spirit.

i agree, i think we were very well-received. i think some well-planned banner drops could also be effective, since part of our planning meeting was brainstorming banner ideas. i know that i personally am mostly interested in action that would attack the consumerism and body facism that are rampant in mainstream, corporate gay culture. i also am interested in doing whatever creative direct action possible surrounding the gender binary and gender norms.

props to everyone who helped out on saturday and sunday. we did pretty damn good for something that was so last minute.

shall we meet again? approach the idea of putting up flyers etc?

I really enjoyed the conversations that I got to have with festival goers when we set up the bookmoblie after the parade. A few people recalled seeing the banner in the parade. It was great that the crowd of people that behind us that popped their heads around to see our banner. Also, the red bull guy joined our march. I would've like to be more prepared and have a little larger of a group, but it was a great place to start because of the positive response.

The queer zine art show is coming up next friday, and I think it would be cool to meet before then so that we can at least come up with a flier to distribute there. I'm sure a lot of interested people will be there.
